Game Change White

2013

The Visionary

The Game Changer White was inspired by game changers of the past who had the courage to blend unusual varieties to achieve a zenith of flavour. This wine has a fresh, lively acidity that supports a satisfying symphony of citrus, apple and stone fruit aromas. This wine can easily accompany a leisurely afternoon of relaxation and reflection but it does cry out for food given its mouth watering wave.

    2015

    The Railway Man

Iron rails formed this country and our "Railway Man" helped to form our infant wine industry. Eddy Gurinskas is our Railway Man referring to his early occupation before making the jump to being an Ontario wine making pioneer. Eddy has always believed in the magic of the blend and our 2015 Game Changer Red owes it breadth and horsepower to just that. Spurs of ripe berry essences converge to bring this complex yet lively red to full throttle as it "high-balls" its way down the track unabated. A racy seam of acidity focuses the fruit and delivers a balanced ride.

INTRODUCING OUR GAME CHANGER WINE SOAKED CHEESE

Available at Vineland Estates Winery and The Cheese Boutique

      • GAME CHANGER WHITE WINE SOAKED CHEESE •
This cheese is soaked in our very own Game Changer wine and aged for 3 months. The ivory paste of this semi-firm, wine-soaked, cheese is covered with an artificial wax rind. Aromas are wonderfully fruity and bright with the wine at the forefront supported by a creamy lactic quality. On the palate all of the flavours transfer with stone fruit, pear and apple blossom leading the charge. The fruitiness of the cheese is backed up by the wine itself!

      • GAME CHANGER RED WINE SOAKED CHEESE •
This cheese is also a semi firm, wine-soaked cheese. It is encased in purple wax, once removed you are treated to a purple pastel colour coating the outside of the cheese. The outer colour is a contrast to the creamy, off-white, paste. Aromatically, these is a dark fruitiness as well as sweet grass and creamy notes mingling with a bit of saline. The texture is semi firm throughout and has a wonderful melting affect similar to caramels when placed on your palate.

      INDUSTRY GAME CHANGERS

The evolution of ideas and ways is seldom a gradual curve.
Long flat periods of understanding become the simple "this is how it is done" mentality of the day. Time passes, things change incrementally and very slowly. Than an outsider floats into view doing it their way, trying it differently, toward a new outcome. The outcome eventually resonates with the audience, a new bar is set and the game is officially changed, the reigns adjusted and evolution jumps up a notch.

      LLOYD SCHMIDT

Lloyd always possessed the ability to see beyond the present, look past the biases of the day and forge new perspectives. He has crafted a notable career in viticulture and winemaking that has literally changed the landscape of how we grow and make wine in North America.

Roman is, and continues to be a Game Changer in the most obstinate way. One could view this description as negative but nothing could be further from the truth. Roman passionately embraces the future but he receives it all on the solid foundation of his truth.

      EDDY GURINSKAS

"it's a passion really," was Eddy's opening as he calmly sat forward with his famous ear to ear smile. Grape growing must be his passion as this gentleman and his since departed, lovely wife Lorraine spent 4 years of weekends and holidays exclusively travelling from Ottawa to Niagara to tend their farm and new vines. Eddy always wanted to farm, but the practicality of his job as a manager for CN Rail kept him from moving to his boyhood dream...for a while.
